We're often asked, "What is the difference between a 'Page Template' and a 'Shortcode' Gallery?" and we'll explain.

Creating a Gallery via "Page Templates" is how our template originally handled Galleries but later in the release of version 4.0+ we introduced the new post-type called "Galleries" where you can now create Galleries and use a shortcode to call them. The method of using a shortcode is a bit more versatile than using a page template, but both are available for your use.

Let's review how you'd create a gallery using the Gallery Shortcode. In earlier versions (and the current documentation for version 4.0.3) it's a little different than it is now for WordPress 3.5. The user-interface has changed a little as noted in our previous post, "WordPress 3.5 - How it affects KingSize WP". So let's get started.

It's a commonly question we are asked: Galleries These are single page collections of images that when clicked will open in lightbox to display the images you've chosen to upload / attach to that Page/Post.
